Reading Buddies Interviews Volunteers!
David Self (Fairview Elem):
- How long have you been a reading buddy? “I have been a reading buddy for 4 months.”
- What prompted you to become a reading buddy? “I have tutored math in the past and Lenn Knapp has been talking about it for about 2 years in my Kiwanis club.”
- What do you find most rewarding about your role as a reading buddy? “Rewarding is the acceptance by the students and teachers. I feel that we as a population do not Aid the teachers near as much as needed and can be.”
- How could the ready buddy program be improved? “I am working 2 days a week with Mrs. Duff in her math tutoring on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school. I think that math at this level needs help from us as it develops into a serious problem by the time they reached algebra. Right now I am discovering a way for us to be of assistance and hope to recruit people from various areas, my church and other churches, even possibly McNeese students to get involved.”

Lenten Lectionary Learning
Continues throughout Lent. These Lenten discussions will be based on the Scriptures and message for each Sunday, and led by Pastor Chan.
Both churches are invited to attend, as well as any other friends of our congregations…
Chan looks forward to meeting you in the ‘Crosswalk’ to Easter… in addition to the passages focused on this coming Sunday from Matthew and Genesis, the other lectionary readings will also be open for discussion.
